Dr. Emelita O. Menes and Prof. Sandy A. Lerio of the UNC School of Graduate Studies were recipients of The Outstanding PERAA Members 2016 Awards. Said awards were conferred during the 44th Anniversary of PERAA, celebrated with the theme “Built on Strength. Caring for your Future” at the Cebu City Marriott Hotel last October 21, 2016. Dr. Emelita O. Menes, Dean of the UNC School of Graduate Studies, was awarded 1st Place under Administrative Head category for the exemplary performance of her coordinative functions in the university. Further, Prof. Sandy A. Lerio, SGS Faculty and University Quality Assurance Officer, was chosen 3rd Place under Administrative Staff category for the commendable efforts he rendered as support staff to major functions in the institution. The search for The Outstanding
PERAA Members (TOPM) is done annually to recognize the organization’s members for their outstanding commitment to duty upon the nominations of respective authorizing officers. Rigorous screening procedures which include interviews and documentary evaluations were conducted to identify the awardees. The panel of judges were composed of independent, multi-sectoral representatives from esteemed agencies and groups, particularly the Department of Education (DEPED), Commission on Higher education (CHED), educational organizations, civic organizations and business sector. Truly, UNC-SGS continuously prides itself with not only students and graduates, but also faculty members who are recognized significantly by external award giving organizations for their zealous dedication and noteworthy contributions in various fields of specializations.
