SGS gears up for Level III accreditation

The UNC School of Graduate Studies reassures its students and stakeholders of its continuous commitment to provide excellent academic formation and services by submitting its programs through the process of accreditation under the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA). The institution’s Master in Business Administration (MBA) program is scheduled for Level III Accreditation and the Doctor of Philosophy, major in Behavioural Management program is set to be subjected to Preliminary Visit on January 12-14, 2017. PACUCOA, a private accrediting agency, gives formal recognition to educational institutions by certifying that their academic programs are able to maintain excellent standards in operations, in the context of their individual aims and objectives. Among the goals of the organization is to identify institutions of learning whose competence and performance in a particular field deserve public and professional recognition.

UNC-SGS intends to subject its programs to accreditation in order to evaluate its educational activities, in whole or in part, and find confirmation that it substantially performs according to its objectives, and is generally at par with equally competitive institutions. Among the criteria the programs, PHD and MBA, aim to satisfy are a Reasonably High Standard of Instruction, a Highly Visible Community Outreach Program, a Highly Visible Research Tradition, a Strong faculty/Skill Development Tradition, a Credible Performance of Graduates in the Licensure Examination, a Working Network with Prestigious Local and International Institutions/ Organizations, and an Extensive and Functional Library and other Learning Resource Facilities This noble effort of the UNCSGS to undergo accreditation articulates its desire to continuously grow as an institution that remains to be sensitive to the current needs and trends of the academic milieu. This process, tedious as it seems, is a powerful instrument for being true to the philosophy and principles the department adheres to. It requires consistency of focus on institutional agenda through hard work and thoughtful effort. All this is for the tremendous reward of an assured quality education.
