1st Annual Research Meeting and Competition 2019

The 1st Annual Research Meeting 2019 was held on June 1, 2019, 8AM – 5PM at the Convention Hall, Avenue Plaza Hotel, Magsaysay Avenue, Naga City. This event, which bannered the theme: Positioning Bikol in the 4th Industrial Revolution Through Research, featured Oral Research and Poster Competitions. This was organized by the Consortium of Non-Sectarian Colleges and Universities for Research (CONCUR) in collaboration with the Global Leaders Society (GLS). The University of Nueva Caceres was the host school. The ribbon cutting ceremonies with the organizers, CONCUR partners and participants in the day’s competitions jumpstarted the program. The ribbon cutting, which signified the official start of the competition and the formal opening of the exhibit of the entry posters was led by Dr. Nora Elizabeth F. Maniquiz, UNC Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dr. Romeo M. Sumayo Jr., UNC School of Graduate Studies Dean and CONCUR Interim Chair.

The judges for the Oral Research and Posters Competition were: Atty. Christian E. Rivero, Education Program Supervisor, Commission on Higher Education Regional Office 5; Dr. Maria Dulce J. Mustoles, Research Extension and Production and Enterpreneurial Development, Central Bicol State University of Agriculture; Dr. Bernadette G. Gumba, President of Council of Deans for Graduate Education.

Serving as the Secretariat of Regional Training – Workshop on Research Refereeing using ISI and Scopus Standard and the 1st Annual Research Meeting and Competition 2019 were the Dean Romy M. Sumayo Jr., and the UNC Research Officers, Ms. Joy Gaza and Ms. Kristine Idda Del Rosario.

15 entries competed in the poster contest and 18 researchers presented their studies during the oral research competition.
